Among them are 13 professors, 28 lecturers, 15 technical/administrative staff, and about 45 PhD students and postdoctoral researchers. The department is involved in undergraduate and graduate education, and research. Active research areas include atomic, molecular and optical physics, laser spectroscopy, biological physics, organic electronics, photonics, condensed matter physics, nonlinear and plasma physics, and statistical physics and networks.

The successful candidate should hold a PhD degree in experimental physics (or equivalent) preferably obtained less than three years ago. The candidate should also have experience in fields of laser spectroscopy, optics, electronics, vacuum systems, and/or gas analysis. A strong interest in instrumental development will be seen as an advantage. The applicant should be highly motivated and have the ability to work independently as well as a part of the research group. The candidate should be fluent in both verbal and written English.
